Seattle has many distinct neighborhoods to choose from and has something for everyone. Here are some of the best places to live when you're looking for a Seattle apartment for rent:

Belltown

Belltown sits right between downtown Seattle and the waterfront, giving residents walkable access to Pike Place Market, the Elliott Bay Trail, Amazon's campus, and a lively mix of restaurants, music venues, and galleries. With a Walk Score of 98 and light rail steps away, it is one of the easiest neighborhoods in the city to live in without a car.

Capitol Hill

Capitol Hill is Seattle's most culturally vibrant neighborhood, stretching east of downtown along Broadway with a dense corridor of bars, boutiques, coffee shops, and Volunteer Park just up the hill. It draws artists, young professionals, and anyone who wants a neighborhood with genuine energy and a strong sense of identity.

South Lake Union

South Lake Union has grown rapidly into Seattle's tech hub, anchored by Amazon's global headquarters and a growing cluster of biotech and software companies along the waterfront. Residents can walk to work, bike to Lake Union, and hop on light rail to reach the rest of the city in minutes.

First Hill

Known locally as "Pill Hill," First Hill is home to Virginia Mason, Swedish Hospital, and Seattle University, making it a natural fit for healthcare workers, researchers, and students who want to be close to where they spend their days. It runs at a slightly quieter pace than Belltown while staying just a few blocks from downtown Seattle.

Belltown offers urban living that is hard to replicate elsewhere in Seattle, combining a waterfront location, a Walk Score of 98, and immediate access to Pike Place Market and Amazon's campus in a neighborhood that never really slows down. Here are some of the standout features that make Belltown a great place to call home:

Ideal Location

The Windham Apartments sits at 420 Blanchard Street in Belltown, steps from the Westlake Light Rail Station and major bus lines, with direct access to I-5 and SR-99. Amazon's global headquarters is right across the street, and Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, Virginia Mason Medical Center, and Swedish Hospital are all within easy walking distance.

Outdoor Adventures

Belltown's waterfront position gives residents access to some of Seattle's most scenic outdoor spaces. Residents can walk and bike the Elliott Bay Trail, relax at Olympic Sculpture Park and Myrtle Edwards Park, and explore Victor Steinbrueck Park's green space and views throughout every season.

Premium Living

Seattle is one of the most economically dynamic cities in the country, and living in Belltown puts residents at the center of it. Amazon's campus is right across the street, Virginia Mason and Swedish Hospital are within walking distance, and Washington State's lack of a state income tax means more of every paycheck stays in residents' pockets.

Local Community

Belltown has a lively, creative community identity built around its music venues, art galleries, and independent restaurants. Weekend mornings at Pike Place Market, live jazz at Dimitriou's, and evening walks along the waterfront give residents the kind of neighborhood life that is easy to settle into and hard to leave.

There are many fun activities to do in Belltown and the surrounding area! The Windham Apartments' location on Blanchard Street puts residents steps from Pike Place Market, the Seattle Waterfront, and some of the Pacific Northwest's best cultural, outdoor, and entertainment destinations. Major attractions and activities in the area include:

  • Seattle Waterfront and Elliott Bay Trail
  • Space Needle and Seattle Center
  • MoPOP (Museum of Pop Culture)
  • Chihuly Garden and Glass
  • Moore Theatre
  • Dimitriou's Jazz Alley

The Windham Apartments is only minutes from the region's top employers. The proximity to the Westlake Light Rail Station, I-5, SR-99, and major bus lines gives residents easy access to technology, healthcare, education, and corporate employers, like:
